Digidesign releases 7.4cs3 for Pro Tools LE March 1, 2008

Well, we did not get the big announcement from Digidesign that Pro Tools now works on Leopard.

But, we did get something. And Digidesign did not announce this, rather, I just found it on their updates page. Obviously I doubt this is the “big fix”, as they would have told us… but it confuses me why Digidesign would release a small bug fix update when they are “on the verge” of making the giant Leopard release.

Digidesign has released Pro Tools 7.4cs3 (customer service pack 3). Supposedly this fixes some problems that 003 users were having with pops and clicks when monitoring all inputs, as well as a few other small bugs (with automation thinning and others). I am going to install this today and I will post my results.

Digidesign is doing some odd things lately: releasing a Leopard 10.5.1 compatible HD the day 10.5.2 comes out, and now releasing a minor bug update version of LE (after shutting their site down all night) when we’ve been waiting 5 months for Leopard compatibility…

I can understand your frustration Ted. We have been waiting a long time for the fix.

But, if you are having problems with your system, you will probably have a better chance of solving it by posting either questions/issues that you need to resolve, rather than just making bad comments about the manufacturer.

If you are a Pro Tools user and are having problems, let us know what you are running, and we can try to help you make it happen!
